What Can I Expect When and After I Sign Up?

What happens when I actually hit “Submit”?
    We receive an email and assess which method the client wanted to be reached. We like to speak to our clients, so if you left a phone number on the Sign Up form, we try that first. If not, we email to any email address given to us in the inquiry. We make an attempt to phone or email a client within twenty-four (24) business hours after receiving the inquiry. If there is a firm name and contact, but no other contact information (sometimes people forget!) we do a quick online search to see if we can find a phone number. WE DO NOT PROVIDE THIS INFORMATION TO ANY THIRD-PARTY.
You’ve called me back, and I still have questions about the development of my website. Are you calling me just to sign up?
    No, you will be called by one of our well-versed staff. We are not a huge, corporate conglomerate with a no-name sales team and offshore customer service team. You are not going to be subjected to a “hard-sell” because the way we see it, our product should do the selling. If you have technical questions, we get a member of the tech staff to speak with you personally. If you have email questions, we get an email professional on the phone. We answer all your questions thoroughly and if at the end of the conversation, you want to sign up with us, we assist you with that, too. If at the end of the conversation you wish to give the matter some more thought, then we kindly ask that you give us a call back when you have made your decision.
OK, now I want to sign up. How do I pay?
    We enter some billing information into our system and begin gathering information for your website. Billing is done via credit card and all major cards are accepted. The possible billing scenarios are as follows:

    If you are choosing a template with no graphic design, the first 30 days are completely free. You will choose from one of our many templates, we will make any and all text edits, biography edits, upload headshots, and launch your website on a domain name. If you are happy with the website after 30 days, you are billed $70 per month for the hosting and maintenance of your site.

    If you are choosing to have your website graphically designed for a one-of-a-kind look, you will be billed the first half of the total design fee. For example, if you choose our $899 one-time design (our most popular) package, you will be billed $449.50 when we commence. You will still receive the first 30 days of hosting free. Again, all described in the prior paragraph apply, but of course we will put you on the phone with our graphic designers and they will develop the “look and feel” for you from scratch. After 30 days, you will be billed the first month of hosting, $70 per month for the length of the time we host and maintain your site. The second half of the design fee is charged to the card one file after you have reviewed our designer’s work, are satisfied with the product, and the design has been launched. The full design is almost always finished and approved within the first 30 days of signup!
I already have a website or a domain name with email. What happens now?
    Here is a step-by-step list of exactly what happens if you already have a website:

  1. First, we establish and account with our software, and begin to transcribe your website if you have one. Any verbiage you like from that old site, we will mirror onto our software. If there is outdated or inaccurate text, we leave it off. This also includes any graphics you have on your current website that you like, including logo or headshots.
  2. Next, if you have email with another provider, you are given the option to mirror your emails (nothing changes with the function of your email, just changing email hosts) and host them with us, or leave them where they are. Some people like their email provider and choose to leave them there, others are plagued by spam or outages and wish to switch. It is a matter of choice.
  3. We have to make an IP address within the nameservers of your domain name. This may sound confusing, but to make a long story short, we have to “point” your domain name to our servers, so that your new website will work. For example, if you purchased your domain name at Go Daddy, for example, we may need the username / password of your Go Daddy account to make the proper settings changes. If you purchased your domain name with Network Solutions, for example, but your email is handled by Earthlink, we may need the username / password for Earthlink’s online tool. This part of the process is usually the most lengthy, BUT we handle all the work. You need not know “how” to do this, as Emochila does the legwork for you.
  4. As soon as the IP address is properly changed, we will host your site and can now implement all the features that Emochila provides. This is the process for “moving” a website you have currently onto our platform.
What is the benefit, if any, of moving email service to Emochila from my current provider?
    There are two main reasons. First, we outsource our email through a service called www.everyone.net and you can visit them online via that URL. They are a very professional, Silicon Valley-based email service and their email packages start around 1000 users at a minimum. We, however, purchase a huge block and let you use as few or many boxes as you need. It would be cost prohibitive for you alone to have such a robust anti-SPAM and clean email service. The service level is reserved for most Fortune 500 firms. The second reason is that if we manage your email and website hosting, most people simply like to have one place they can call or email to address or troubleshoot both...and yes, your email can be set up to Outlook!
I have chosen a design package. How do we proceed?
    Here is a step-by-step list of exactly what happens if you want us to design a website.

  1. First, we determine what design package you would like. The prices of these packages can be seen at the bottom of this page (click here). Most people opt for the $899 design package if they already have a logo developed for their firm, or are not interested in a logo, or the $1399 package if they do not have a logo for their practice and would like one designed with the website. You are billed only half of this design fee to start, you are given 30-days FREE for the hosting of the site, and the design process begins:

We direct you to http://design.emochila.com and here you will see a form to fill out which helps our designers with colors, layout, etc. The form is very easy to fill out, and if there are areas about which you are unsure, just leave it blank. You are going to have a personal, one-on-one conversation with our designers anyhow, but this is the notification to them that you are ready to begin.
  3. Once we receive these “specs” from this design form, we make a decision: If the form was completed in entirety, with colors, our designers begin developing based on the instruction. If the form is completed and our designers need some more information, they will call you personally to clarify the design specifications. Some clients want very much to be involved with the design process, and some want us to use our expertise and trust that we have developed over a thousand websites in the past. The level of your involvement is your decision.
  4. We design a “proof” and email you a .jpg of the design, it is NOT the final look and feel of your website. It is ONLY a photo of our work, and you are free to critique the design. Some people love the design right off the bat. Some people want some revisions. Very rarely, but sometimes, our client dislikes the entire design. Either way, if you want changes, we are back to the drawing board! When our designers have developed another “proof,” we repeat step 4 until you are completely satisfied. This entire process can take anywhere from 4 days to three weeks, depending on how many revisions you request. We always complete the design in three proofs or less!
  5. When you are satisfied, we have to “cut” the site, which in essence means that we make the “proof” ready for our software. We make the buttons work, we make the pages work, and we launch it at your domain name. Once this is completed, you are billed for the second half of your design fee. This is the entire design process.
What if I simply do not like your design? Can I get my money back if I´m not satisfied?
    Well, this has never happened to us. We have designed over one thousand CPA and accounting websites and there has not been a single event where we have not been able to satisfy a client with our design. However, policy states that you are due a complete refund if you request a refund before critiquing the first proof. If you critique the first proof, and we do additional work, we can no longer refund the first-half of the design, but you will not be charged for the second-half of the design. Once the design is launched, there is no design refund.
Who owns the design and logo, seeing as I paid for the design?
    You own all PhotoShop files that we design for you. You will receive a hard copy of the design on disk when it is competed if you request. You can do whatever you want with the design even if you terminate your account with us. For example, when we finish a logo for a firm, many people like to have this logo represented on their letterhead, stationary, and business cards. There are no copyright issues with Emochila, the designs are yours.
I have chosen a template package. How do we proceed? – Here is a step-by-step list of exactly what happens if you want a template:
  1. You are given thirty days (30) free to evaluate the website. Setup, and all our work for you, is free. Completely.
  2. We direct you to http://www.cpahomepage.com where you will see a plethora of website templates. You can choose any of the designs in any color form. Please note at the bottom-right of page one there is a link to page two. You are free to choose any of these on page two, as well. The page two designs, however, are only available in the colors you see.
  3. We take this design, put the title of your firm in the top, and voila! We can launch your website immediately and we can change the templates for you anytime. Additionally, should you want to upgrade to design anytime in the future, this option is available to you as well.
  4. Thirty days after you sign up with us, your credit card on file is billed for the first month of the website, only if you are completely satisfied. Our retention rate is currently 96%.
I didn't have a domain name before, and you helped me purchase it. Who owns it?
    You own the domain name for as long as you continue to renew the annual domain subscription rate of $29.99. This is NOT and Emochila fee, but rather the fee everyone pays to have a domain name. We will buy it for you to save you time, but in the end it is yours, even if you terminate your account with us.
Do you ever charge me ANY additional money? If so, for what and how much?
    The only additional fees we have besides design fees are related to storage space. We will never charge you additional money unless you opt for one of our additional space features. Included in our service is two hundred and fifty kilobytes (250K) of online storage space for your online file storage. If you want extra storage space on our file-exchange server, it costs $19.99 per month for one additional gigabyte (1G). Looking at the market price for SSL 256-bit encryption, Sarbanes-Oxley compliant online storage, we are proud to proclaim that this is a very small fee. Search for yourself!
OK, now the site is launched, and I have text edits. How are they made?
    Most of our clients prefer just to send us an email, fax, or give us a call at our toll free number (866-340-5652) and we will make the change for you usually within one business day. However, we will give you the login and password for you to our website editor, and if you are so inclined you can login and make small changes to your site whenever you want.
What does the file transfer system do that will really help my practice?
    This is generally the most important part of your site and the reason our clients love our product. You will be able to transfer QuickBooks and Peachtree documents, tax returns, and any other files you wish over the portal. Both you and your clients will get an individual login and password and will be able to send or receive documents. This saves a lot of time, money on mailing costs, and because of our 256-bit encryption, every file transfer will be extremely secure. This will help you streamline your practice and will also give your clients a reason to visit your website.
How long from day of sign-up until my site is up and running?
    If you opt for a design package, it will take our graphic designers on average two (2) weeks to work with you on making a design that you love, depending mostly on the time you have to critique our work. If you get a template site and are buying a new domain name with us, we can have you site up in 48 hours. If you already have a domain name and we need to change the IP address (see the question above that addresses this), the site will be up with 48 hours after we receive the necessary username and passwords from your domain name provider.
How long do I have to keep your service once I sign up?
    We do not have contracts, and your hosting and maintenance payments are month-to-month. We will not raise your monthly rate and if you are unhappy with our services, and we cannot collaborate to find a remedy, you can quit at any time.
